Accessibility

Accessibility at Aegis

Aegis does not have a finished interface yet: its web app is an authentication screen and one placeholder page, and its dashboard is not built. So there is nothing to claim about the product today, and this page says so category by category. Its API, where Aegis does its work, has no visual interface at all.

The product

What Aegis supports today

Each line says what the product does, how we know, and where to look. “Not yet tested” means exactly that: we have not checked, and we do not claim it.

  • Keyboard operation Not yet tested

The placeholder page has a skip link to its main content. No one has walked the web app with a keyboard, and the dashboard that would need it does not exist yet.

  • Screen reader landmarks and labels Not yet tested

The placeholder page is built from a single main landmark and one page heading, but it has not been scanned with axe-core or tried with a screen reader.

  • Contrast in light and dark Not yet tested

Aegis uses the Renkara design system's color tokens and a red accent in light and dark. Its own contrast has not been measured.

  • Reduced motion Not yet tested

The web app has no animation of its own yet, and its tests do not check the reduced-motion setting.

  • Text resize and zoom Not yet tested

Resizing text to 200 percent has not been tested in the Aegis web app.

  • Mobile and touch Not yet tested

The Aegis web app has not been checked at a 375 by 667 phone screen. The dashboard it would apply to does not exist yet.

No WCAG conformance level is claimed for Aegis. The Aegis web app has no accessibility tests, has not been scanned with an automated tool, and has not been tried with a keyboard or a screen reader.

Known gaps

What does not work yet

  • The Aegis web app has no accessibility tests of any kind.
  • The dashboard does not exist yet, so its accessibility is a plan, not a result.
  • Findings are read through an API. Report and export formats do not exist.
This website

How this site is built and checked

This site targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. That is a target we build and test toward, not a certification, and no one has audited it for conformance.

  • Structure

A skip link, labeled landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), one h1 per page, and headings that do not skip levels.

  • Keyboard and focus

Links and buttons are native elements, so they work from the keyboard. Focus is drawn as a visible ring, and the menu closes with Escape.

  • Contrast

Text meets 4.5 to 1 in both the light and dark themes, checked against the stylesheet by the test suite.

  • Motion

Transitions and animation switch off when your system asks for reduced motion.

  • Small screens and zoom

Layouts hold at 375 pixels wide with no sideways scrolling, text resizes with the browser, and touch targets are at least 44 pixels.

  • Automated scan

Every page is scanned with axe-core at 375 and 1440 pixels in light and dark, and the checks fail on any serious or critical violation. Automated tools find only part of the problems, so this is a floor, not proof.

  • Images

Every product screenshot has a text description and comes in a light and a dark version that follows your theme.

  • Your theme choice

The theme follows your system setting until you pick one with the button in the header.
